Presumably, pilots need to practice all aspects of operational performance. So a QRA call would not be the first time. The reason being I believe is that Akrotiri in Cyprus has been too busy with operations over the Middle East region to allow The Reds the runway time and airspace required in recent years.

I would have thought that part of the exercise of the deployment was for all personnel involved packing/moving all that is required to keep the deployed team/aircraft fit and well. That means both ways.
