Re: St Mawgan Open Day 1978

Wonderful images! Remember my first “in the flesh” encounter with a F-111 - walking home from school along a particularly quiet road, got assaulted by a V low F-111 that went directly over me at about 200ft from my direct 6 o’clock. Never even heard it approach. When I extricated myself from a bush,...

Isn’t that the same bird that had bits of a canopy come off during flight at EAA couple weeks ago?

Re: Large fireball?

With respect, Gary, how can you guesstimate it's height when you have now idea of it's size? It could have been thousands of miles away etc., Just curious. No offence. John. :) None taken fella :thumb: Guesstimate taken from a rough assumption due to a friend in Porlock (West of Minehead) who also ...

Re: Large fireball?

As long as it wasn’t Hinkley Point! It would have been more or less across it, guesstimate 10-14000ft. At a guess travelling from approximately Highbridge area across Hinckley, and onward in a SW heading. Something in flames on a downwards trajectory - the remnants of Boris 'Crash and Burn' Johnson...

I love to see images like these, hear the howl, smell the fuel and burger stands, take in the lines o...
