Shuttleworth Drive-in Show, July

After some great comments on my girlfriend's photos, thought I'd finally share some of mine from the evening. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50247507753_8389db3a10_o.jpg DSC_5637 by Phillip Loughlin , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50247507083_fa43efc4fe_o.jpg DSC_5833 by Phillip...

Shuttleworth Drive-in Show by the Girlfriend

We went to the drive-in show at Old Warden yesterday which was a really well organised event with some great flying and great weather. Really helped to get over the disappointment of no RIAT. I thought it'd be nice to give my girlfriend my old camera and a few instructions and see what she came out ...

Old Sarum Airshow

Decided to walk down to my local airfield to see the Vulcan for one last time. Unfortunately, she went tech and had to cancel her display. However, I quite enjoyed the rest of the show and here are some of my efforts. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5783/20757001484_2ebfaf727c_o.jpg Old Sarum-1 by Ph...

1/48 Eduard Su-25 Frogfoot

Here's a few photos of the Frogfoot I've just finished. It's done in the colours of the Czech AF airshow 'Frog' colour scheme. All of the spots on the aircraft were sprayed freehand. Sorry about the photo quality, they were taken on my phone. The model is currently packed away as I'm in the process ...

Buffs at Fairford 17/06

Decided to go down to Fairford to see the B-52s in action. After they departed in the morning I had a great day with Tom and Dave having a coffee in Fairford and having a drive around the perimeter. Called the arrivals perfectly and got into position just in time to get them flying right over our he...

Hot sunny RIAT

Here's some shots from my annual pilgrimage to RIAT. This was the first year that I haven't been rained on. Brilliant weather pretty much all week! http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3786/9428729054_f7fd7c00b4_o.jpg RIAT Wed 05 by Phill Loughlin , on Flickr http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3714/9425961889_8...

Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Legends 2013

Decided to make the trip across to Duxford for Flying Legends this year. Was a great show but the sun and haze made photography hard (especially in the morning). However it was a great day out especially when they played Shine on you Crazy Diamond during Stephen Grays last display. Here's some of my...

Blustery Bluebell 03-04-13

As I'm off for a week for Easter, my Dad and I decided to go to the loop for a day. Having heard that the loop had been pretty quiet I wasn't expecting too much. Another thing I wasn't expecting was the wind! I knew that it can get windy up there but flippin' heck. There was a sustained gale up ther...

Re: Iran unveiled indigenous Q-313 prototype

Great reporting by the Daily Mail as usual, manage to call a F-22 a F-18 and then call a F-18 a F-5!

Great shots. I'm going out in a couple of weeks with cadets for my 6th time and it still grabs the emotions each time I go.

Re: General modelling gallery

Having played DCS A-10 quite a lot, I have come to hate/fear/respect the Shilka and it's annoying buzz on the RWR. So when I saw this I relished the thought of making one. It went together really well and then I went to town on the weathering. Hope you like. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8436/800109...

Phill's RIAT

Due to me starting an internship with Airbus, I was only able to come for the weekend of the show. However the weather held off (mostly) and I felt the show was the best I have been to. Had fun wallowing in the mud all weekend and was great to see the familiar faces again. Here's my selection: http:...
