Cornish W & R requests

Hi, I'll be in Cornwall for the first time in years in April. I was hoping someone with local knowledge could answer these questions about some Cornish Wrecks and Relics. 1) Newquay / St.Mawgan: Are the Lynx XZ607 and Tornado ZH553 visible from outside? 2) Predannack: is Sea King XV657 still there? ...

The video's been geolocated to here:

Looks like a rather low downwind lefthand to runway 25 at Kayseri-Erkilet. Well done to the crew for making the field.

Can't remember the last time we had any type of deployment to Odiham. Presumably the TBM was dropping off their pyjamas.

REQ: F-35 over Solent Monday 13th March 2023

My 79 year old Dad swears blind he saw a low level twin tail fighter heading north over Emsworth, Hampshire at 1335 on Mon 13th March.

Does anybody know if there was some sort of flypast over Portsmouth or the Queen Elizabeth carrier that day?

Thanks a lot,

Re: Why do US military (generally) avoid overflying Belgian airspace?

Well the story I was told is that the US Army forced the change from 7.62mm to 5.56mm NATO standard ammunition for assault rifles in 1981. Belgium previously supplied a lot of the widely used NATO standard 7.62 ammo, and was mighty peeved when this change occurred as it meant the US became the de fa...

Re: AH-64E (ZM703) BDN65

Wow, thanks Vulcan! I'm chuffed to tie those two up as 848 was one I wanted. I'm still after 830, 838, 849 and 863. There was a third Merlin, nose facing out, on the right side of the HAS as viewed from the 23 threshold, illuminated by the early sunshine. They tucked 855 back in to the left side of ...

AH-64E (ZM703) BDN65

The above Apache AH-64E landed at Boscombe shortly after 1230 and proceeded to the southern end of runway 35 for touch and goes. Serial was not read off, but taken from ADS-B (as was the call sign). 43C931 was the hex code. https://youtu.be/J4CUuSMxdAY As an aside 3 Merlin HM1s were noted in the eas...

Re: Russian Spy Ships Near RAF Lossiemouth

I heard a story of a Russian Bear shadowing a Civvie PA-31 Navajo on the airways system, crossing the North Sea towards Lincolnshire from Denmark. This is back in the late 70's / early 80's. The Bear was tucked in just below and behind the Navajo, with its gear and flaps down to match the slow airsp...
