Re: HOWLER mission November 7th.?

Sounds like they are working a mechanical issue, 21.10 check in with 21.30 takeoff. Possibly swapping aircraft or mention of trying to swap the part.

Re: My top six highlights

Regarding your #6; one very brief but delightful highlight for me was the trick landing that the Twotter performed when it arrived on the 27 threshold, right in front of us in P&V. Final approach 55 knots (close to stalling speed), exaggerated flare at zero feet, simultaneous full reverse pitch, an...

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?

If they can put up 9 jets I see no good reason to replace them with another type with the huge cost that would entail. They've failed to put up 7 jets for most of this season! Sorry, to clarify was talking about next season, think its fairly obvious this season has been less than ideal in more than...

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?

According to Scramble database there are 15 airframes (XX177, XX188, XX202, XX219, XX232, XX242, XX245, XX278, XX295, XX310, XX311, XX319, XX322, XX323, XX325) not sure how many of these are fully converted smoking jets. Typhoons aren't feasible due to having hugely increased cost per flying hour ov...

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?

As opposed to the French, Italian or Canadian display teams flying the currently in production...... Hasn't stopped them carrying on now has it.... Exactly, the point is it's a military fast jet, the majority of the general public wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a trainer and a fron...

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?

i think that the red arrows stopping and formation of a new display team would properly credit how highly she was held in regard by the British people?! suggestions? Sorry I just don't understand your logic or lack thereof. :halo: The Red Arrows represent the RAF not the Commander in Chief directly...

I've heard the following participating:

Indians, Saudis, Belgians, Swedish and then Waddo/Coningsby/Leeming all mentioned as host bases. Time will tell.
Out of interest, any idea what the Indians would send if they did come? They operate a good range of aircraft types. SU-30?

Re: Lakes,october

I live in the South Lakes area and since home working started, see much, but not all, of the traffic that comes through. The lakes is hit and miss these days. There were two weeks earlier this year when multiple F15s came through each day about lunch time. Since then, there's been more than a few b...
