Re: Appeal for pic of Gulf War nose art on Nimrod XV244
According to the RAF website, there is no reserve (R) in the squadron designation, see here:
https://www.raf.mod.uk/news/articles/nu ... ssiemouth/
The RAF dropped the (R) designation several years ago.

Re: Tutor special / trails colour schemes and where is G-BYXD?
Just to clarify, due to costs, only one aircraft was actually repainted, G-BYXH into the yellow/black scheme.
G-BYUE & G-BYXG had vinyl coloured stickering applied then later removed on completion of the trial at the paint finishing facility at Norwich.
Can’t assist with location of G-BYXD.

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?
The above is what the RAF told everyone - but I've been told she left due to harassment - She could be one of the three females mentioned in the article. Interesting theory. Harassed so much she married Red 1! ;) :D https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2547221/First-female-Red-Arrow-Kirsty-Stew...

RubyRoo,
As you suggest, aircraft crash matting was placed on the grass, then the aircraft were slowly towed across it . The moves occurred in early February this year.

31 Sqn Stood Up
The RAFs first Protector squadron has stood up this month.
The recently arrived UAV apparently wears full squadron marks.

From a post by John on MSF, he states: So the three Spitfires would have been MH415 ZD-E, MH434 ZD-B and ML417 21-T. All three left Duxford for Goodwood last Thursday

Says prior to 2006 it was Gazelles used by 32 Sqn, er it was Squirells ! Are you sure about your comment here? I believe that 32 Sqn utilised the Gazelle HCC up until Apr 2006, when they were replaced by A109s x 3.(ZR321-323??) Didn’t they remain in service until replaced by GZ100? When did they op...

I’m led to believe the airfield will be open over the next couple of weekends to accommodate the temporary BZN fleet movements.

Re: Saudi Hawks
For anyone thinking of watching the families day from the A15 tomorrow: I have just driven down the A15 from the B1178 turn off (Branston) to the new roundabout at the end of the bypass, there are now no stopping/waiting cones on both sides of the road, as was during Cobra Warrior. There is also now...
