Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread

Hi all, Can anyone tell me if the RN dolphin is photographable from outside the fence? Tia, Robert I think that cancelled a while ago, but don't hold me on that! Yep cancelled few weeks ago. Well Dauphin ZJ165 is definitely in the gren zone static. Posibly photographable from outside but didnt see ...

Re: Military Aircraft Markings 2023

One of my big gripes with MAM has always been the way the US serials are presented, i guess it was fair enough when all the aircraft of one type had the same serial presentation but now KC-135s and C-140s wear a mix of 'last five' and 'tactical' serial presentations would it not be better to list th...

Re: Lee on Solent - Stored ex AAC Defenders

Does anyone have decent photos of the Defenders outside at Lee on Solent this week? All the aircraft have slightly different presentations of the Zxxxx - ARMY on the fuselage, I've done a bit of research and beieve they are all identifiable from decent pics of the starboard side.

Re: Warton Typhoon Residents

I believe ZK370 hasnt flown since 2015 when it had its test flights. I have noted several times either on the pan near the sports club or the test pan next to the River Ribble. I believe its only used for ground testing.

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?

Why is there no chance of more Hawks? The last Hawk of the Qatari order only flew for the first time last month, presumably the jigs etc are being kept at Warton so re starting the line wont be an issue.

Re: Stripped Merlin in hangar E2

Yes, as in it is a stripped cab, minus engines etc. Seems to be some sort of training frame. It is NOT one of the SFDO training frames.

Stripped Merlin in hangar E2

Can anyone supply an identity to the stripped Merlin in hangar E2? It is in the back half of the hangar behind the gliding club aircraft.
Thanks in advance

Re: Norwegian f35s

They are visible from one spot on the A1065 about 100 yds towards the main gate from the pull in. You need yo be looking over the top of the soil bank at its lowest point and both sre visible nose on between the hangars
Not the easiest to see.
Hope this helps.
