Mach Loop
My apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum.... I haven't been to the loop for a couple of years. It just didn't seem worth the effort as, at the last time I went, the Tornados were being withdrawn and Typhoons seemed to be discouraged from flying there. But, boy, have I spent many happy ...

Grecom PSR-295 scanner (with Watson aerial)
Folks, if you're interested in buying this rather good scanner, please check out my eBay listing here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254378827581 Whilst it's an old scanner, it still works perfectly well. Note it comes with a Watson WSMA-881 aerial, is in the original box, has full operators manual and...

Re: First visit to Lakenheath
Thanks Ian, appreciate that. Is the viewing area well signposted? Are there any other spots that might be good depending on things such as position of the sun and 'angles' of aircraft on approach and / or take off?

Re: First visit to Lakenheath
Hi,I have some business meetings in Norfolk on March 5 and was planning on vising Lakenheath on the next day, so March 6. I've seen the helpful guides already on FC - thank you, whoever posted them!- but was wondering if anyone knew of any reason why it may be a waste of a day!! Also, in terms of ph...

Loop question
HI guys, just wondered if discussions re the loop were OK on this forum? I can't see any mention, nor anything specifically related to the loop and didn't want to offend anyone by posting comments or photos!

Re: Above Thirlmere Nov 15
Thanks for the kind comments, chaps. It's the first A400 I've seen LL, so a very worthwhile day! Given the current weather, I'm glad I made the trip!

Above Thirlmere Nov 15
I needed a day away from the laptop....Wales looked clagged in so I headed North to the Lakes. The view from above Thirlmere is great after a steep climb - plenty of time to spot aircraft as they approach over Thirlmere through Dunmail Raise. That said, this is not the best spot on a winter day when...

Good morning
Hi guys, I'm pleased to be able to say "hello" to everyone! I'm a relative newbie to aviation photography, although I have been to the Loop a few times as well as standing on a lonely hill in the Lake District. Semi-retired, I'm enjoying a rediscovered interest in photography and getting out on the ...
