Also, to save anyone else a trip, I went to Marston Meysey end too just now but no floodlights on so couldnt see the B52 in the dark (if it even is parked at that end!)
Thank you :)

Re: RIAT 2018 ARRIVALS

Thanks for this! As always, I'll check Twitter and ATIS on the way (coffee at Membury), and probably choose East. I went to West for departures last year and with hindsight (a wonderful thing!) wish I had gone East as they used 27! (and it was a NNE/NE/ENE wind - can't remember the speed). Twitter ...

Re: Tamron 70-300mm F4-5.6 LD DI Macro Zoom Lens

I have the Tamron 70-300 lens on my Nikon D3300 and I'm pleased with it. Anything I've posted on here was taken with that combination. Thanks for the info IMarsh ! I am due to use my restored to life Sigma and Canon for RIAT. I am still keeping an eye on Tamron one on ebay to see if I can get a bar...

Re: RIAT 2018 ARRIVALS

Do they direct you on the day or do you have to chose which side to go to ? I have only ever been East side so I have no clue how to get to the West side. Their website is pretty bad at showing where people need to go for P&V. Any advice ? Thanks Maximus, you can choose which end you would like to ...

Re: RIAT 2018 ARRIVALS

Will there be live arrivals coverage on this forum again this year? And does anyone have any news as of yet of any arrival timings for any aircraft coming in? I'm planning a live feed on either twitter or here, depends if Flickr works or not.... That is, if there aren't any objections to me doing i...

Re: Tamron 70-300mm F4-5.6 LD DI Macro Zoom Lens

Well done Maximus. The Tamron lens is a very good one, I am a bit miffed I sold mine a few weeks ago to make room for a new lens. I just found mine to be slightly slower to focus than my other lenses, but no complaints about the images it produced. Hope all goes well for your trips out this summer....

Re: Tamron 70-300mm F4-5.6 LD DI Macro Zoom Lens

Update!

I no longer require a second lens as I have managed to fix mine by replacing the motor I ordered from china. Works like new ! In the process though, I won 2 lenses that had fungus and those are clean now and good to go as well. I guess now I can do lens comparison

Re: RIAT 2018 ARRIVALS

I am considering adding Tuesday to the list of days to attend this year. Is it worth it ? I have only done Wednesday and Thursday last year and could not find the arrivals for the 2017 that are listed by day.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Camera recommendations

Just a word of advice with the Nikon. Make sure you get the lens with the built in motor that is compatible with your camera. D3000 range and a few others need specific lenses that support the Auto Focus feature. Lenses should have DX in the name (thats for Nikon own ones) and check compatibility wi...

Re: Tamron 70-300mm F4-5.6 LD DI Macro Zoom Lens

Image stabilisation is NOT necessary if you know how to hold a camera,in fact I am convinced it degrades IQ and never use it. It is,however useful for handholding in low light of a STATIC subject down to 1/2 second. I have never had it and done ok so far but I am considering to have stabilized lens...

Re: Tamron 70-300mm F4-5.6 LD DI Macro Zoom Lens

Maximus , you have not said what make camera you are using ,the reason I am asking is I have a Canon 75-300 4-5.6 which is currently surplus , It was going to be traded in a px with MPB but if its any use to you then the offer is there . I use Canon 400d for the long range stuff. Thank you ! I will...
