Re: England Winter Tour of India 2024

Maybe now England should finally declare when it comes to test cricket. We no longer have the players capable of playing the "long format" of the game. Also the audience is no longer that interested, even during the ashes series if there weren't regular wickets falling or towering boundaries being s...

Re: Coningsby Families Day

Rafair, I don't understand your comment about funding. Unless RAF jets start sporting 'Sponsored by Paddy-power Bingo' soon, I would suggest all their funding comes from the great British public. I thought it was well known that "foxy Bingo" was the sponsor of choice. :P https://live.staticflickr.c...

Re: Busy April on the railways.

Hi Pete We caught The Great Britain XV on day 8 at Welney and again, very close up and thundering past on day 9 at Ten Mile Bank. Wonderful! Is there a good forum that you can recommend to discover other occurrences of these marvellous machines? Thanks in advance Don't know of a forum but I use Rai...

Re: KC-135s to receive winglets

The 'last chance' check has always been done in the U.S.A.F for as long as I remember [a long time!]. It's something that that our Air Force doesn't appear to do. The Americans also have a penchant for running through every single available switch for it's pre-flight checks, whether or not some sys...

Re: KC-135s to receive winglets

A couple of years ago, on a base tour at Lakenheath, I asked a pilot why aircraft spent so much time sitting at "last chance " or on holding areas. As far as he was concerned this was just normal operating procedure. I've seen aircraft sitting for the best part of an hour on many occasions. Also, an...

Re: Cobra Warrior Take Two 2022.

+1 with thanks to those that posted the great info. Not on any of the faceache or twatter type of social media ( just my personal choices) so FC is my go to for info. Disappointed about the 02 end being made difficult /impossible to access but, as I was more interested with the Italian stuff, I'm mo...

Special livery Lakenheath 1ST August.

A no show from the Raptors and a worrying wait for anything to happen. Happily at mid day the locals came out to play and it was almost non stop action till after 6PM. Cherry on the cake, the special livery flew multiple missions. Couple of shots for ( I hope your enjoyment ) of the special. Other s...

Re: Canon 550D help reqd

IIRC there is a switch on the back of the camera, top right by the corner of the screen, this toggles for still or video. In the centre of this a button that turns on live view. Press this and the LCD screen displays the view, you"re also able to customise what info is also shown. Shutter speed ISO ...
