Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024

They may be participating in the official flypast but that could easily be done flying from Israel, I would be very surprised, in-fact dumbfounded if they deploy to Andravida due to the current situation in country. It appears they have disappeared off the official participants altogether as of yes...

Re: AAC Gazelle final flight to Fleetlands

Great set of images, such a shame there was so little publicity compared to other aircraft that have departed in recent years They advertised the intended flypast on a lot of social media forums, but alas weather and serviceability postponed the first 2 x 3 day multi location events and in the end ...

Re: AAC Gazelle final flight to Fleetlands

Lovely photos but what a shame it was such a damp squib of a retirement flight. Very sad but as said above the AAC have certainly had their money's worth. Thankfully we'll keep on seeing them flying in private hands no doubt 😊 Unfortunately much to the disappointment of both Squadron and spotter, w...

AAC Gazelle final flight to Fleetlands

After two previous 3 day events were cancelled due to weather and technical difficulties, the final flight of the Gazelle was truncated into a single day transit from Aldergrove to Fleetlands. After crossing the Irish Sea the trio and their crew called in at Barton Aerodrome for a refuel of both liq...

Re: October 2023 POTM Competition

A change of entry for me, as much as I love the Hawkeye, they will be available to shoot again in service next year. These beauties though will not. With the impending WFS of the AAC Gazelle I took up the opportunity to capture the 5 sqn trio in BAT formation on their refuelling visit to Manchester....

Re: May 2023 Photo Competition

Taken 10th May @ Konya Afb, Turkey. With ramp a/c, public background clutter and heat haze prevalent, I opted for a long 3/4 taxiway shot with clear background hoping it might work for a high key edit. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52896853974_da3f39bddc_h.jpg 60 Years Phantom Special Tail BW ...

Re: Let's go to Greece they said...... Iniochos 23

Well done Kev, better than last Wednesday, with morning mission cancelled because of thunderstorms and LOTS of rain, in the afternoon only one Flanker went airborne, no Jordanians, only 2 Saudis and one, just one Spook... Oh and no Spanish either... Really felt for those on the second spotters day....

Re: Let's go to Greece they said...... Iniochos 23

Thanks Mike, yes I think we got the pick of the spotters days for sure. As I'd posted on the COAP WhatsApp trip group, a folding step although not essential in these situations certainly does prove beneficial at times. No-one could predict they would opt for a new viewing area this year for the morn...

Re: April 2023 POTM Competition

Taken 26th April. Andravida Air base. Royal Jordanian F16 recovering in monsoon like conditions. An example of why you should never give in the weather, because there's always awesomeness to be had somewhere! It's all good and well when the sun is shining and the jets are giving you what you want. h...

Let's go to Greece they said...... Iniochos 23

Spotters Day 26th April 2023 was another day of mixed weather for sure. Prior to travelling, I'd seen on the social web a comment along the lines of "let's hope for good weather!" with a response posted being "well it can't be as bad as last year that's for sure!"...... Never tempt the fate devil! T...

"Tribute to Old Phantom Phighters" There's just something about the F-4 Phantom and there's not long to catch them around Europe. Turkish Air Force F4 sporting a brand new special tail giving this beauty a delightful colourful appearance, balanced nicely by the WSO donning the Turkish Flag and also ...

A very nice selection. Those Phantom's with snow in the background are :Wow: , remind me of the RF-4 farewell at Larissa a couple of years ago. I was at Andravída on Thursday only, no Buckeye's and no sun, but what a great day out it was! Thanks for sharing :thumb: Yes the weather on Thursday was c...
