Re: Camera/Lens for overflight photos at 33,000 feet

Another train of thought is. Unless you have a vice like grip, with your hands, you are not going to get a sharp image over that distance.

Re: Head Spinning - Newbie DSLR Purchase

Hello Micky, did you choose a camera in the end or have'nt you decided yet. I am a Canon user myself but I have a couple of Nikon bridge cameras, and I am considering a DSLR as a back up/alternative. The images through Nikon lenses are absolutely pin sharp. And with very little effort.

Re: Help with Canon 5d mkii

Nick C and Archer. Thank you for your comments, having also chatted with a colleague from work, this seems to be the case, that they are better suited to the crop sensor (APS-C) camera bodies, as I do not have an issue with either of them on my Canon 750d. Everyday is a schoolday, and happy to have ...

Help with Canon 5d mkii

Evening all, This maybe a daft question with an obvious answer, I don't know. My Canon 5d Mkii ,which I don't use all that often, has suddenly developed tunnel vision. I can crop it out, but thats not ideal if its a landscape shot etc. I don't know whether I have pressed a button without knowing, bu...

Hi , Yes I would also recommend the 1.4 x option aswell. Better results.

Re: Beginner Tips/Lense reccomendation?

Hi Tom, First off I would look at a 70-300mm lens. By either Sigma, Tamron or Canon. All need to fit the Canon EF mount. See how you go on with that and then progress from there. You may want to look into a converter in case you want a longer reach. On the 400 d I would recommend the 1.4 converter. ...

Re: Camera/Lens for overflight photos at 33,000 feet

Photographing flyovers is very hit and miss. You maybe able to identify a colour scheme for example, but once you start cropping ,the images can become very distorted. Even if you used the Canon fixed focal length L series 800mm, you would struggle for results. We are talking big bucks for such a le...

Re: LP-E6 batteries.

Well this is the thing. I know some of you may not approve. But, I have taken a calculated risk, as I am not a pro photographer. On ebay I found batteries called Bonacell so I have bought 2, with a charger that works off a USB lead. I have bought a similar battery set as back up for my Canon 750d, p...

LP-E6 batteries.

Thes LP-E6 batteries are for the Canon Eos 5d mk2 and mk 3 etc. I see there are various alternative makes out there. Anyone got any recommendations for non canon batteries.I have noticed that alternative makes have a greater MaH ie, they store more power. Thanks in advance. Cheers John 'flightpath'.

Re: Anybody have experience of the Sigma TC 1401 teleconvertor

Hello mate. Yes I use one on a Sigma 150-500 C lens. I works perfectly. Mounted on a Canon 750d or a Canon 5d Mkll. I don't use all of the time, but when called upon at airshows etc it performs well.

This is a truly fantastic set of photo's, expertly taken of a bygone era when we had such a great variety of aircraft in service. Thanks for posting, and to the youngsters that are on here. This is what us older generation grew up with. !

We didn't struggle for water bowsers. There was one near the control tower and another one between the dutch chopper and the fairground bit.Thats just two, there were others. The taps were crap but you could extract water from the feed pipe.Food vendors were a rip off, but I think partly because of ...

The owner of British Gas has just announced, eye watering, record profits. To the tune of 3.3 bn. Pounds. They have put up our domestic bills blaming shortage of Russian gas due to the current conflict. And any other convenient excuse they could find. How do we feel. ?
