Looks likely to be a 9 ship plus photo Puma.

CAB rotations in Afghanistan were also a complete rotation of aircraft. Long logistics tail, but the aircraft were looking tired tbh.

Re: FRIAT 2019
So my issue was with the Red Gate on Saturday morning, probably 60 mins waiting patiently in line. The guy with the bar code ‘zapper’ was absolutely clueless as to how it worked, held the queue up and couldn’t even speak to or acknowledge what his team leader was saying to him. The basic bit of targ...

RAF around the world trips are referred to by the crews/operators within the fleet as 'Globals'.

Re: RIAT flypast
Whilst the weekend Flypast will be memorable, it will most likely be a wings level parade. Don’t expect to see any wing drops. I know time is tight on the flying display, but it would be nice to see the jets break out of the formation and do a Duxfordesque solo fly through ( or in threes) before the...

Re: RAF 100 Flypast
So, looking at what’s been flying, the SH piece would appear to be 3 Pumas, 6 Chinooks. Those at Coningsby have been watching the launches; is it 21 or more (accepting they prob launch an airspare). No reports of any Tucano practices seen since Dec. Is Shawbury launching 3 of each helicopter or 3 in...

Re: RAF 100 Flypast
That’s a pretty good recall of what’s flying. I think the SH numbers may be a bit Chinook heavy. I don’t recall the Tucano’s tbh. It will be interesting to see what is dropped for RIAT Friday, and then more again for the weekend. I think that Tocano 9 ship over Humber in Dec was a statement of disap...

Re: RAF wants to replace E3D
Barely 30 years, lol, assume you’re joking there. Let’s face it 30 years is a decent airframe life/pressurisation cycles life, it’s not dissimilar in the airline business. Do you still drive your car from 30 years ago and daily? Airlines hammer their aircraft, target utilisation is often 13 to 16 h...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2018 Discussion Thread
I wonder if one of the RAF F-35's will be added later on, with them flying across the pond next month ;) Still hopeful for RAF tornado too! Never know what other aircraft will be added mind, closer to the date :) If you look on flightline uk it says there is an raf f35 flying The flypast might just...

Re: Qinetiq/ETPS Alpha Jet/Hawk retirement question.
It will be a huge shame. The PC-21 does look lovely but just not the same in my eyes..not even close. I have seen and heard mixed things. A few people seemed to have thought January (this month) and other reports are 'the end of the 2018 courses' which in effect could be December this year? I'm jus...
