Re: Req Cobra Warrior dates 24-1

Nothing official yet, but should be either w/c 2nd or 9th September based on previous years. Let's hope it happens! The reasons for the March running being cancelled was lack of foreign participants, with only German Tornados on the list to attend, and that Waddington would be busy with other thing...

Re: 11 April 2024 Log

What does n/m stand for, is it no movement? If so ZK309 was briefly moved onto the washpan so it could be pushed into the paintshop. It was only on the washpan for a couple of minutes while the tractor was turned around. I presume it stands for 'no (squadron) markings'. Good point. Hadn't thought o...

So will these new chinooks have a refuelling probe like people keep saying " they are just MH 47G". If so, will we have to reley on mildenhall hercs to refuel them?

Houthis managed to scratch a Saudi Tornado back in 2020, can’t remember if the crew survived.
Im sure they lost a typhoon on ops as well in 2017. Was put down to technical error.

Re: US and Britain to conduct airstrikes

Egypt has been bombing Yemen for years with the Saudi led coalition which got them nowhere. Sixty years ago Egypt was backing the Yemenis who wanted to kick UK out of Aden. And what relevence does this have to do with the current situation which is entirely different? Houthi rebels backed by Iran d...

Egypt is going to get seriously p....d off with these rebels. The Suez Canal is a huge source of revenue for the country, and if ships aren't using it, then it will cause large financial loss.

Wittering runway resurfacing.

I hear the runway and taxi ways are being resurfaced at wittering lasting tll late 2024. Will the grobs be relocating to another location? I have also seen a post but i can not for the life of me remember where but someone eluded to the fact of a lot more activity once the work is complete. Does any...

Re: Top Guns Inside The RAF

I thought that detachment was 4 jets? Maybe the others went left rather than right and ended up in Portugal🤷‍♂️ Didn’t the RAF and the German Air Force share a detachment last year providing two Airframes each? Yes I am sure they mentioned this in a previous episode. And would explain why ZK305 had...

Couple of c17s left this morning, one headed deep into europe and maybe beyond and one was heading towards the atlantic so i guess it was bound for the states.

Edit; first to leave is now over saudi, probably heading to Al Udeid.

Sorry to cause consternation by starting this in the wrong place.

If anyone has any ideas where will be available to view on Friday I'll be very grateful.
i believe the viewing area is the only place. anyone under the display line can stop the flying.

Re: RAF no show on Lincolnshire Break

Just returned home from a 72 hr short break in Lincolnshire which I'd always believed to be the home of the RAF (Bomber County and all that). Really disappointed that during my stay I did nt see a single RAF a/c, altho it seemed like every one of the Lakenheath F-15Es came through' the Donna Nook R...

Re: UK industry officials raise eyebrows over Royal Air Force F-35, E-7 and A400M programs

By comparison consider the rate at which LN has taken F35s in quite a short time frame and it is clear that it's not a production issue rather delaying tactics. is it not the fact that the more f35s you order the more up the production list you go? the USAF buying 100s means they would be priority ...
