Re: 56RQS to leave Lankenheath in 2017.

Thought this would happen when the USAF said there were going to be 2 F-15E and 2 F-35 squadrons based at Lakenheath. The only available room really was the HAS site currently used by the HH-60G Pave Hawk's

I have a dream

Hi Chaps I am thinking of starting a business offering tours to European airshows and would be interested in what people thought of the idea. I have put together a trip to visit the ILA show in Berlin in June next year. This would be based on a 3 star hotel located on Alexanderplatz approx located 3...

Re: Coningsby "Sunset Photoshoot"

My response would be as been said if you think £40 is to high dont go pure and simple.

I think it is on the high side, but how often do you get the chance to do this type of thing. The Answer is no often,

Re: TTTE Scheme for RAF Tornado

As has been said does it matter why they did it, they did and its something abit different, the problem is that some people just want to complain about something. You have people saying RIAT should get something special, and not run of the mill, RIAT do this with 2 x P-1's from Japan and then people...

Re: TTTE Scheme for RAF Tornado

I thought it was quite a nice touch for the static, the point I dont really know, but here is an out field idea, we all know that German front line jets dont often fly at airshow, and the RAF have not had a Tornado flying for a number of years in shows, it could have been RIAT's solution to getting ...

Re: Dubai arrests

Hi The point is we all know that some places like switzerland welcome aviation enthusiasts with open arms and make spotting as easy and as enjoyable as possible. We all know that some places don't like spotting at all and will get upset if you do it. You have to apply a comsense filter to the situat...

Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020

Very sad day. For all concerned and the end of an era for all. Just been reading this stuff and Lakenheath is getting an extra 1,200 personal, this may mean that the F-15E's are staying. By the time the F-35 turns up at Lakenheath, the F-15C's operated by the 493rd FS would be pretty much out of ser...

Re: RAF Mildenhall to End Missions. Lakenheath to get F35 by

In way not surprised at all by the closure of a UK base, US have been unhappy for sometime about UK cuts in their defence spending, I think this is the US showing that they aren't willing to put with any more. The report doesn't say what will be happening with the F-15E's I wonder if they will be st...

I used to do the Farms on the outside Saturday and Sunday, but since the Mrs now comes down, and can only ...

Re: Sunday Express - Red Arrows could fly F-16s

Dont think they can have Hawk T-2 as the current ones arent owned by the RAF, so a new order would have to be placed which I am sure would breach some deal with BAe Systems. Dont think they will have Typhoon's either due to the cost of the airframe and the cost per flight hour of £50,000+ assuming t...

Re: RAF Cuts

Hi Chaps I have said for years that the cuts have been far to deep, I think next year when we have the next SDR, I think you will see an increase in defence spending, I suspect we will either buy or lease P-8's I think we will do a split purchase of F-35's between the F-35A for RAF and F-35B RN, I t...

Re: Axalp 2015?

Rumour I have heard is that the exercise will still take place but will not be open to the public due to amount of people who went in 2012, and the issues they had getting people down from the mountain.
