Looks pretty intact, wonder what the full story is.

It looks a bit like a "I wonder what this button does" moment
That's totally what I thought too...

Mildenhall intruder

Apparently there has been another incident of an unauthorised person accessing mildenhall base. https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2021/02/07/another-gate-breach-at-raf-mildenhall-prompts-increased-security-measures/ which one of you 'togs was it this time? :D but seriously, any one k...

Re: Open Skies Treaty

The US withdrew from the open skies treaty on Nov 22 2020. ... Will be interesting to see if the Biden team seeks to re-start open skies
What's the alternative though, if it was 'failing' ... are we looking at increased covert surveillance?

Re: New Wedgetail surveillance fleet to be based at RAF Lossiemouth

Are the analysts on board the RAF RC's from 51 squadron, or the 54th signals ? if the latter - do we know if are they rebasing to Mildenhall also?

Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020

Our cumulative conjecture is intriguing. It seems apparent that Biden and his team, are not fans of the current English nationalist government, but BJs recent declaration of increased £s for the UK forces seeks to maintain the UKs position as top tier partners with the US. Biden's team have mentione...

Team was disbanded in 2012, unfortunately.
Oh no... thanks MRTT.. sad news. ACC still have a viper demo, so was hoping with the push to sell newer variants of the '15 airframe the strike eagle demo team might still exist.

ACC F-15E Strike Eagle Demo team

Hi folks, one of my favourite displays - that i never got to see in person- is the strike eagle demo team flying in a 48FW jet. I was browsing video and photos from when they have displayed over here (RIAT, Duxford etc) and then looked at ACC aerial events - but there is no mention of the Strike Eag...

Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020

Thanks Page - I've now seen a stripes article suggesting there could be a challenge to this plan in congress, as some law-makers have attempted to put restraints on trump's ability to pull troops from Germany without further oversight... interesting to see how this plays out. https://www.stripes.com...

AM I right in thinking the SecDefs statement and associated plans still have to obtain political clearances in both house and senate? if so this is not a done deal yet?

Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020

whilst not directly relevant to the closure of Mildenhall, or the F35 basing at LK, the US rescinding the open skies treaty, speaks to the wider context of worsening US / Russian relations and maybe highlighting closing US assests such as Mildenhall might not be the wisest of plans? https://www.defe...

Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020

I think at this point we're all speculating, because many of us would like the Hall to stay... her'es my thoughts - usaf will want to keep Spang and Ramstein - two of the best quality of life assignments in the force. Moving the AMC mission to spang was a strategic move to keep it open... If the F-1...

trump has apparently directed US EUCOM to remover nearly a quarter of the troops stationed in Germany - on the Dday anniversary weekend. Troops and an F-16 squadron have been cited as moving to Poland. Given the current geo-political instability Im thinking RAFM will be here for a while yet! https:/...

The DoD are deferring a whole lot of mil-con worldwide, because somebody is preoccupied with building a gigantic fence / "wall".
Looks like no explicit mention of fairford though?
