Re: Upper Heyford again .....
I went back to UH, last year to see what was left, and to be fair, not a lot. (where i could access), the brown derby gone, Bowling gone, cinema gone, about 5 years of my youth went with it as not only was i an infrequent visitor to the railway end, i was quite a frequent visitor to the ramp, having...

Re: Best Vulcan Display Seen?
Apart from the wonderful 'last' display by 558 at Upper Heyford and the wonderful low level on take off, wing waggle on departure day (Sunday i seem to remember) the best most awe inspiring display i saw was its last ever display at RIAT. Brakes off, full power, up well before the mid point (FRIAT s...

Re: Beijing - China Aviation Museum
Oh a holiday, i did the whole museum in 90 minutes of move, click move, but i did get some lovely shots, photographing everything there at the time. A taxi from the hotel will take you right up to the entrace (which is all the way down a long taxiway). so worth the taxi taking you, waiting and takin...

Re: Formula 1 2023
can i ask, as i truly dont know but value your opinions.... With the Red Bull overspending a couple of years ago, RB got fined including tunnel time. However did they create this car design by using the tunnel time and development monies to get a jump on all others? I get that Max is a damn good dri...

Re: USAF Alconbury TR-1A's 'Dragon Ladys"Late 80's 90's
There is a video of Marham circa mid 80's about the victors kicking around, showing B-52's on the pad, and TR-1A landing.

Wouldn't 737's be the obvious choice?
after all, Poseidon, and Wedgetail would give us a semblance of commonality.

ATI 93 video uploaded
Hi everyone, I have just uploaded a DVD conversion of the VHS video i took at RAF Fairford for my first ever IAT in 1993. Having caught the bug at ATI Boscombe Down the previous year (Video still to be converted), this was my first (living in north Oxfordshire at the time) close to home airshow, and...

Re: WK163 Canberra?
Agree with Jamesg23, however it's the law of diminishing returns, as they are cutting costs (which could be wages i'd surmise) by 31% as stated on their press release. Lord knows what they are going to do next year, when even fewer people want to stand and watch 558 run up its engines, and shut down...

Re: WK163 Canberra?
I think the wording on the press release is a bit 'interesting', like they knew in March, but said nothing to even their founding members. Did the 'investor' have confidence lost in them or did the 'investor' actually lose confidence in the groups ability to drive it forward. So they are going to re...

Re: Tony gets his flypast!
Ok, just back. Felt the flypast by the Americans was fantastic, and the lump i got in my throat at that wonderfully evocative F-15 pull up for the 'missing man' was heart rendingly fitting. interesting formation undertake by the typhoons, and got a slight topside from the herc and osprey as they ban...

Re: New bases?
interesting... how many tornado aircraft were introduced in that 4 years? its an interesting comparison when looking at the total Tonka force introduced in that period and the 35 over 11 years for the F35 Then you have the LM figures for service life of 8000 hours. No wonder they only fly a few a we...
