UK exercise inc. Everleigh DZ
Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but I was advised that next week (7-11 Nov) there will be a big UK exercise with aircraft operating out of Brize and helicopters deploying troops on Everleigh DZ. Does anyone know anything about this?

Re: Red Arrows to get new jets
Try this :D The Red Arrows are an integral part of the Airforce. The Squadron is a target, no, a pinnacle for our fastjet pilots. A skills honing home for the best that have been produced by the system. Some facts of the current situation. The Tornado is reaching it's sell-by-date. The Typhoon has ...

Does anyone know when ZH866 will be delivered to Boscombe Down, or will it go to Brize first?

The nightshots of that Pioneer Team are fantastic. Great to see the Polish Iskra team still going, as haven't seen these for several years in UK and thought they may have disbanded.

Must have come in late pm then as I spent two hours of boredom there between 1100-1300. Only two Tutors in circuit. A Chinook departed to the south-west about 1130 and the ETPS Augusta 109 was flying in the area.

Not sure about that. Who has heard of the F-86 Saber? Whatever, the exercise name is 'Saber' not 'Sabre', so the patch lettering needs changing.ROB MkIX wrote:Sabre is the English spelling and Saber is the American spelling.

Re: Mon15/6 and Tue16/6
To help people understand what happened better, the day was for various guests of the base certainly not just the Fairford aviation society. However, when someone is a member of a group the base already has a relationship with, it helps vouch for and validate the people who'll be entering the base....

No! You have to be a member of the Fairford Aviation Society, to get in. I was there, but nothing flew. Was told they should be leaving either Sunday or Monday.rva65 wrote:Enthusiasts day? how does that work? can anybody go in like the old evening photo shoots they used to have?

Re: Mon15/6 and Tue16/6
The B2 support that was airlifted in from Whiteman must still be here , so I am assuming that there maybe another sortie from Whiteman AFB - even if its just a 'galley' to take all the gear back next week! ASSUME - makes and Ass out of U and Me! Apparently not. Was speaking with the exercise Comman...

Yes, you would be. It will be a two week bomber deployment with support arriving this week. Hi Sam, I'm guessing the support will arrive later this week, not early, just my luck, working from Wed' onwards!! Cheers Pune I have heard that two C-5s will arrive with equipment on either Wednesday or Thu...

I may have made this unclear..my apologies. I would not mind going to places such as Afghan Cyprus etc. (wherever at the time) It's just I would rather not be with the guys who are fighting the war - I'd rather be fixing jets...Apologies, I hope this makes more sense James, you therefore need to ch...

Can you explain exactly what you are queuing for? I understand it that you would be allowed to walk around all Red Arrows Hawks, but from what I saw on TV, everyone appeared to be kept behind a barrier?

Re: Farnborough 1964
I suspect this is a typo error as Air-Britain's report doesn't even list any 14 Sqn. Canberras although Mike Hooks "40 Years at Farnborough book gives just ' four 14 Sqn. Canberras" with no serials. My 'Canberra bible' in the Midland Counties book by Ken Delve, Peter Green and John Clemons which doe...

Re: RIAT 2014 - News and updates here please
Folks I have been told that this is public knowledge by my sources, but it has not been mentioned here, so I can all tell you that 4 F35s and 2 KC10s will be coming between 1800-2000 this Sunday. The bomb dump will be open for parking and one of the gates will be open for viewing. RIAT will be empl...
