Re: In a canyon far far away 2014
Hi Gordon, I hope you are doing well. A bit late but I like to thank you for posting these great images that I really enjoyed seeing. You had obviously a great day out in the canyon. The picture 5527 of the Growler really shows how wide it is. Something you do not realise when you photograph it from...

Re: Lakenheath "Excalibur VII"
A real nostalgic post. These exercises were always a good reason to come over to the UK to see large numbers of aircraft and a lot of flying activity at the air base. Thanks a lot for sharing these images and bringing back memories of days where we were not aware how lucky we were.

Thank you very much for posting these pictures SonyShooter1955. During my last visit to Scotland I arrived at the museum just at closingtime so I only made some photos through the fence. But your post reminds me I must go there next time I will be in Scotland again.

Re: HMS Sultan Fleetlands 1994
Thanks a lot Pete for submitting these pictures of a small but interesting event. Fleetlands is one of only a few places I never visited so it is nice to see some coverage of it. I should have been more active in the south of the UK instead of focussing mainly on East Anglia.

Thanks a lot for posting this great selection of shots of an interesting day 3Greens. Although all are great, the Jaguar with missionmarks, the German An.26 and the aircraft on the firedump I find really great to see.

Thank you very much for posting all these interesting pictures Roughcutter. This is a real surprise post since you kept adding photos. Re: Flying activities at RAF Marham
Thank you very much Slogen 51 for this information. Four aircraft in the morning will do for me as I can use most of them. For the afternoon there is a good alternative 1 hour away.
Hopefully I will meet you then.
Kind regards,
Arnold

Flying activities at RAF Marham
I will be in England during week 12 and intend to go to Marham on the 21st of March. I read somewhere that 617sqdn is at sea at the moment participating in the Defender exercise. Is there flying activity these days while one squadron is away? It would be a waste of time being there when nothing is m...

March 11, 1971. Laarbruch
Early 1971 I went together with the late Hans de Ree to Laarbruch to see if we could photograph the aircraft during a very cold winterday. It turned out to be a very narrow, limited view in the westwind approach. All in all a difficult airfield for photographing because on the other side of the base...

1973 Retrospective
It is a nice tradition in the Current Photography Section that people show the year retrospective. After having covered some air shows from 50 years ago I thought I could do 1973 in retrospect by posting pictures of aircraft photographed during that year at various places. The result of course is to...

First of all I would like to thank you for your very nice comments. I don’t know where the Finnish Magisters were going to or coming from. But I saw 3 years earlier 2 of them at Colmar-Meyenheim on the 31st of August, the same time of the year. They were in Colmar to participate in a military sports...

1973 Luxembourg
Originally I intended to post a survey of what I photographed in a year as is done by other Fightercontrol members in the Current Photo Section at year-end, but in my case for 1973. Going through the remainder of my slide-scans from that year I noticed I had a considerable amount of slides taken at ...

Royal Flush at Florennes June 14th, 1973
A visit with base acces to the annual NATO competition Royal Flush 50 years ago produced a nice selection of reconnaisance aircraft of the participating Air Forces. Many photos because I found it difficult to make a selection. First two visitors: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53363569643_5b462...

Re: May 19th, 1973. Spangdahlem open house
Great selection there Arnold with tantalising glimpses of Belgian F104's ("Slivers"?), a German F104(?) nose just behind the GIna and is that a French F100 rear end beyond the Flamant? Heady days! Thank you. Thank you all very much for the nice comments on my pictures. The Belgian F-104's and the F...
