Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
Looks like there is not that much going out of Shawbury until after 2pm: Reds 1445 Hornet 1545 P3 Orion 1645 Gripen 1645 ish All approx based on display times at Cosford Doesn't look like much before but may be corrected. Typhoon display at Cosford at 1210 hours but they are NOT at Shawbury currently.

Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
Your better off at the South side runway 36. You can access a field via a crash gate and get to the end of 36 there. Very good views.

Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
Red 10 has said in the mess this evening that any drone reports wont be taken lightly, and they will consider abandoning any aircraft movements out of Shawbury, including the display. There is always one idiot who has to go and do the stupid thing and stick a darn drone up. Well done you twit!

Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
FYI Civvie and RAF Police have been checking the fences, and Rapra Lane this morning at the end of runway 36. Spoke to the civvie police and they said they are concerned about people getting too close to the end of the runway! But they have confirmed that they cannot shut the road/lane or stop membe...

Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
The ground at the crash gate on runway 36 is awfully muddy and wet, and will be like this tomorrow. I expect that wont stop some people walking right across the crops though! Please everyone stick to the edge of the field and fence lines, do not walk on the crops. Wellies defo needed trust me the gr...

Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
Looking at the wind direction on Sunday which should be approx SWS, it would indicate aircraft will take off South over Rapra Lane. Runway 18. Showers at 3pm onwards just in time for Reds display. Weather tomorrow is awful until 6pm, and ATC contact has advised rehearsals will likely get pushed back...

Re: Cosford Show Aircraft Moves Shawbury
I dont think there is room on the visitors pan for the Germans though? Also heard today that the security is going to be extra hot this weekend. With people being kept away from both ends of the runway. Some to RAF police this afternoon who were up on the lane at the South end, and they advised that...

Re: Shawbury 09Nov18
I believe the airfield is closed to remove construction waste which is hazardous, from the airfield. They didn't want the choppers blowing asbestos contaminated concrete around the airfield, pan, and base!

Re: RAF SHAWBURY OPEN DAYS/AIR SHOWS
Any way why argue with me - I am nothing to do with shawbury You come on here slagging down the people at shawbury - they don't know you are on here so can't reply - in other words what is their side of the story Just interrupted my reading of beer in NIPS Which begs the question of why someone app...

Re: RAF SHAWBURY OPEN DAYS/AIR SHOWS
It's standard practice - as you know - they want you to pay and go inside. Wrong, you cannot go inside and pay at Shawbury which shows you are not very clued up on this base. I agree with Arthur Tee on this and the base management in using the CRO are corrupt and useless! They cannot stop you from ...

Re: Shawbury 25/09/2018
Unfortunately Shawbury has become rather boring in respect of rotary now they have Juno and Jupiter's. That's is unless one of them has a little rear rotar dig into the grass, which happens more than too often. Obviously any visitng aircraft are a catch, and let's hope in 2019 we have a few more fix...
