Thanks to FC, and 360radar, managed to see the flight pass by at altitude.... awesome sight. Didnt realise till after that the vapour trails were expensive avgas being dumped !! Captured as they passed a little west of Scarbs....... several F-15s dumping gas hence the trails whilst others arent....

So chuffed to see them with the eyeball........!

Well, after watching a hundred other videos of it, finally tried it for myself......! FIrst day (got there midday) was a write off: with too high winds and squally showers. Tuesday I climbed up the hill around 8.30am (about 15 others there) and basically spent nine hours trying not to freeze to deat...

"I guess it's something between a £250 modern mini-type camcorder on tripod, up to a £1500 fully lensed-up DSLR. Hello Jon Glad to hear you are thinking of getting serious about videoing planes! You have quite alot of choices to make ! Palm held "Camcorders" -Built in-lens usually with good long zoom -Powered zoom - a weak spot of amateur video-ers is endless "zooming in" , "zooming out" etc etc -Very portable...
