RAF Coningsby 10/04/24 - Typhoon Practice
Possibly my last chance to get up to Coningsby to catch a Typhoon practice, the weather gods were very very kind, for the morning at least. about an hour after the display jet landed the skies were filled with thick clouds then followed by rain. A few from a very brief morning at the fence 1 https:/...

RAF Coningsby - Turbo1 Practice 04/04/24
A drive out to Coningsby on a dull and damp morning, with the hopes that the weather would break at some point, which never happened. Not until after the practice display, typical. Spent the day down at the Visitors carpark end, for a change. Not a terrible day considering the rubbish weather. Nice ...

RAF Waddington - Red Arrows Training 02/04//24
Trying to squeeze a few more trips in before the team head to sunnier climbs. Quite lucky with the weather during the day, still yet to catch a 9ship practice 1 https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53629676288_661eb25966_h.jpg DSC_8999 by Michael Hallam , on Flickr 2 https://live.staticflickr.com/655...

Red Arrows Winter Training
Had been a couple of years since I last went to watch the Reds during their winter training, wasn't sure how it would be around Waddington in comparison to Scampton. But I was pleasently surprised 1 https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53526466571_31eac14f32_h.jpg DSC_6421 by Michael Hallam , on Flic...

RAF Lakenheath 19/01/24
With the weather looking perfect, another drive out to Suffolk was on the cards. Just a shame it was a late start, first launch at 12:40 and not much to write home about for quick climbs. 17 launches including the 4 RAVN Hawks - stunning little aircraft they are! A shame to only have 5 Eagles go up ...

Re: Day at Lakenheath fence 27th May
Can I ask where you stood to get the take off shots. Always looking for different. Around the 06 end of the airfield there is a small lay by, they can be pretty high once they get to you, and the sun can be awkward, but it can work. And some pilots will dip the wing earlier than others giving a nic...

Re: Day at Lakenheath fence 27th May
A very good selection Michael. The panning effect on the first shot is excellent but I'm not sure if it works quite so well in the second. Presumably '1309 has been fitted with a replacement panel but has been scheduled for the paint barn yet ..? Thank you Richard. Yeah the Reaper landing shot is a...

The End Of An Era - Farewell Tornado
It traditional British style the weather took a turn for the worse on a day we all would have wanted the previous days weather to have stuck around for a little longer Nonetheless to witness 9 GR4s in Diamond Nine was rather special and superb job from the Marham ground crew to get 11 jets serviceab...
