RAF Lossiemouth Aerial shot
I happened to be passing by Lossiemouth yesterday evening and after a couple of quick radio calls I was given permission to orbit - Thought this would be of interest to you lot! Re: P-8
To give you an idea - on Wednesday it departed at 09:37 and didn't return until about 19:47. Although depending on what it does & because it isn't a scheduled service I have no idea if it will or not. Hope this helps out somewhat!

RAF Leuchars - The end.
As the clock struck twelve, two Typhoons appear in the distance. A slow & sad flypast as the RAF flag is lowered for what is the last time as the handover to the army is complete. Also am I correct in seeing on EGPH.co.uk there was a KC-135R here on Monday morning? Not surprisingly I missed that as well, due to being en-route to work.

Re: Goodbye, Farewell, Goodnight. The end of an era RAF Leuc
Wow, Martyn, Great shots, Im glad you managed to catch them in the end. Im sorry that I didn't manage to make it. As you say about Leuchars, there are so many things to miss, and your witty banter and the whole crowd together is something that nobody can claim to have as much as we did here at Leuc...

Re: Goodbye, Farewell, Goodnight. The end of an era RAF Leuc
Thanks all for the comments so far, a damn shame they no longer reside in Fife. However Lossiemouth will look after them and the new photographic opportunities will be worth the short 1hr 45min drive to see them.

Goodbye, Farewell, Goodnight. The end of an era RAF Leuchars
As a local living 10 minutes from the base I will miss the noise, I will miss the faintest whisper that an exciting movement is arriving and the mad dash to catch it (I will also miss the resulting disappointment when nothing showed up!!). I will miss the sleek dart like shape of a Typhoon powering ...

No formal flypast doesn't meant there isnt going to be any flypast at all. Perhaps an 'unofficial' one, lets just wait and see on Monday.
